The CEA is a major player in technological research. Within the CEA, the DRT (technological research department) brings together more than 4,000 researchers, engineers and technicians, and more than 500 doctoral students.
Positioned at an essential step in the innovation chain, it works closely with many industrialists and academic research partners, in France, Europe and internationally. Each year, its technologies allow the creation of 6 to 10 start-ups, several of which have become leading players in their field.
The expertise of the CEA will contribute in the seatbelt to synthesizing new cathodic materials as well as evaluating the safety of the new generation of all-solid-state batteries. Particularly innovative study will be carried out in partnership with ILL, on the neutron visualization of the battery thermal runaway
